California Center for Land Recycling
California Center for Land Recycling (CCLR or “see-clear”) is focusedon creating sustainable communities by encouraging and facilitating land recycling to revitalize urban areas, discourage urban sprawl, and conserve greenspace.
CCLR focuses on sites that are idle, abandoned,
underutilized, or contaminated (or perceived to be contaminated), known as “brownfields”.
California Center for Regional Leadership (CCRL)
CCRL is a statewide nonprofit organization established to support,
facilitate, and promote innovative regional solutions for the state’s
major economic, environmental, and social challenges, and to help
achieve a more sustainable California.
California Coastal Commission
The Coastal Commission was established by voter initiative in 1972 (Proposition 20) and made permanent by the Legislature in 1976.
The mission of the Commission, as the lead agency responsible for carrying out California’s coastal management program, is to plan for and regulate development in the coastal zone consistent with the policies of the California Coastal Act.
California Futures Network
California Futures Network (CFN) is a statewide coalition of organizations created in 1997 to educate and organize at the state, regional, and local levels to achieve land use policies that are fiscally, socially, and environmentally sound.
CFN Affiliates are united in their belief that California should:
- Steer public and private investments toward existing developed areas;
- Provide increased social justice, economic and housing opportunities for disadvantaged populations and communities
- Conserve that state’s valuable agricultural lands.p

California County Planning Directors Association
CCPDA is the California Association of all of the County Planning Directors. Land Use Planning is under the purview of local government and as such, each County has the responsibility for this important function. Where will future growth occur in a County? How much? These and many other questions are answered in a County’s General Plan.
The Planning Department is responsible for the coordination and implementation of that plan. CCPDA is a vital link between all California Counties to coordinate best managment practices in the field of Planning. As an Association, we learn from each other’s experiences. Oftentimes, when a County is dealing with an issue, we find that someone else in another jurisdiction is or has already dealt with it.
They offer helpful advice, this is an important function of CCPDA. CCPDA provides legislative coordination with the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) on Land Use Planning matters.

California Planning Foundation (CPF)
A nonprofit, charitable corporation established to further the professional practice of planning in California. CPF achieves this goal through its primary activity of scholarships and awards to university students in financial need, who have demonstrated academic excellence at programs approved by the Planning Accreditation Board.
A secondary, but vitally important CPF activity is the sponsorship of workshops, publications and other continuing educational and professional development programs.
